This is my tenth year teaching language arts at Scappoose High School. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and my Masters in Education from Portland State University. In addition to English, I have done a fair amount of my studies in dance, theatre, rhetoric, and philosophy.
Teaching is one of my great passions--although I didn't realize it until later in life. When I was 28, I was asked to choreograph a musical for Sam Barlow High School. Shortly after, I was hired by Damascus Middle School to do three more musicals! There was no turning back--I was hooked on teaching. So, I headed to grad school to get my master's degree and have never looked back!
I live in Portland with my husband, Christopher; my daughter, Lily; and my ornery Shih Tzu, Murphy. In addition to teaching and being a mom, I love reading, writing, watching movies, hiking, backpacking, rafting, rock climbing, gardening, yoga, and ecocrafts.
